Welcome to the Rainbow Village by Christina Vlasie from Romania

            Hello! My name is Jessica Webber, I am 124 years old and I’m form L.A. My story started 100 years ago, when I used to live in California which was part of North America. That split in many parts because of an earthquake. California began to get covered in water. A real chaos was there, everybody was scared, running everywhere, trying to find a way out. Suddenly, I saw a ladder not too far away, in the park where I happened to be. I thought that if I could climb it, I would save my life. I ran and ran and all I could feel was the cold water that was coming through all the cracks of the ground. Climbing up the ladder, taking step by step, I realized that, in my despair, I was so high that I could reach the sky, and only in a few moments I could even see myself above the clouds. Now there was this sense of calm and quiet, I was peaceful and not afraid anymore. I reached out my hands and saw a sign saying “Welcome to the Rainbow Village!”

          Far in the distance I could notice the houses coloured in red and orange, the streets were purple, the cars and one church were all green. The Town Hall was so blue and shiny as if it was brand new. The people’s faces looked yellow but smiling and happy. These were just the colours taken from the rainbow.

          They welcomed me in a friendly way, offered me a house to live in and everything I needed in order to live a normal and happy life. Now, 100 years have passed and one of my friends has told me that life on Planet Earth is possible again. I couldn’t help myself from wondering what it would have been like if I had gone back. I wanted to be there, and feel and remember everything and now I was amazed at the new world that was around me.

          I talked to a journalist about the things that had happened and he advised me to write an essay about which all the future generations could find out. 

          So, here I am, sharing my experience and the belief that our world will always live through our strong will.
